ROAD ACCIDENT FUND CLAIMS EXPLAINED

Claiming with the Road Accident Fund (RAF) can feel daunting. We offer a simple guideline for you to understand the process.

Step 1: Seek Medical Attention

Ensure you get proper medical care immediately after the accident, either at a hospital or with your chosen medical practitioner.

Step 2: Gather Information

Collect police reports, medical records, and witness details to support your claim. The faster this information is obtained, the faster the process can begin.

Step 3: Submit Your Claim

Claims must be lodged within the prescribed periods. If you are unsure what the prescribed time periods are, we are here to guide you.  We will sort and arrange the necessary paperwork in order to lodge your claim with the Road Accident Fund.

Step 4: Medical Assessments

Expert doctors will assess the extent of your injuries and future implications.

Step 5: RAF Evaluation

The RAF reviews the claim, which may include its own investigations.

Step 6: Settlement or Litigation

The RAF may offer a settlement. If it’s insufficient, we can initiate court proceedings on your behalf.
